Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft for Window, macos, Android and iOS. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot table , and a macro programming language called Visual Basic of Application. It has been a very widely applied spreadsheet for these platform, especially since version 5 in 1993, and it has replaced Lotus 1-2-3 as the industry standard for spreadsheet. Excel form part of the Microsoft office suite of software. 

SECURITY:-

Because Excel is widely used , it has been attacked by hackers. While Excel is not directly exposed to the internet, if an attacker can get a victim to open a file in Excel, and there is an appropriate security bug in Excel, then the attacker can gain control of the victim' s computer. UK's GCHO has a tool named TORNADO ALLEYwith this purpose .
